Javier Bardem Online was launched on February 24th, 2008 - the day of the 80th Annual Academy Awards, where Javier was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his outstanding work in "No Country for Old Men".

Although Mr Bardem has been acting in his homeland of Spain since 1974, I was completely new to him when I started to hear his name during promotion for some of his 2007 films; "Love in the Time of Cholera", "Goya's Ghosts" and of course "No Country for Old Men". I was instantly intrigued by this new actor so I sought out some of his earlier films. After seeing a few of his Spanish language performances I really grew to like him as performer very quickly. It wasn't until I saw his international breakthrough performance in "No Country" that I felt he was one of the most talented (and highly underrated) actors of his generation and his performance really lingered with me for weeks after. I Google'd Javier's name in the hopes of learning more about his career and was shocked I did not see find any websites or fansites about him. So with help and support from a good friend, I decided to take it upon myself to get up a very small (and growing!) website dedicated to Javier.
